The successful ‘Guide for Schools’ first shared by Professor Simon Dyson in February 2011 has just been adapted for use in Sierra Leone. Children with serious health conditions in this region, such as those with sickle cell, require much needed educational support. Therefore, Simon and his colleague Maria Berghs at De Montfort University have recontexualised this guide for use specifically in this region. The guide has been written with help from the Sierra Leone Sickle Cell Disease Society and local schools.
